Abstract: Crowdfunding is the process of raising money to fund a project or business venture through numerous investors and via an Internet platform. The objective of this report is to examine the growing phenomenon of crowdfunding as an alternative method for raising finance and the factors that lie behind its success. The analysis focuses on Kiva.org, one of the most successful crowdfunding platforms in the world.
