Die ökonomische und wirtschaftspolitische Entwicklung Lateinamerikas nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg

Abstract: In diesem Beitrag wird zunächst das Wirtschaftswachstum
Lateinamerikas im Zeitraum 1950-2001 im internationalen Vergleich
untersucht. Daran schließt sich eine Analyse der Industrie- und
Handelspolitik, der makroökonomischen Stabilisierung und der
institutionellen Entwicklung in den Untersuchungsländern an. Abschließend
werden die sich abzeichnende wirtschaftspolitische Ausrichtung
Lateinamerikas nach den Finanzkrisen der 90er Jahre und das jüngste
Wirtschaftsprogramm der argentinischen Regierung aus ökonomischer Sicht
bewertet.
This paper first analyzes the comparative economic growth
performance of Latin America in the period 1950-2001. Then it reviews
industrial and trade policies, macroeconomic stabilization and
institutional development in Latin American countries. In the final section
the emerging approach to economic policy in Latin America after the
financial crises of the 1990s is discussed, and the latest economic
programme of the Argentine government is assessed from an economic point of
view.
