Der Preis des "Grünen Goldes" - Informationen und Informationsdefizite über den Marktwert genetischer Ressourcen
Oliver Deke
Abstract: Genetic resources are living organisms that contain
genetic information which is of importance for biotechnological research
and development. Facing an accelerated worldwide loss in species diversity,
the question is whether commercial trade with genetic resources can
generate sufficient revenues to conserve biological diversity in general
and naturally occurring genetic information in particular. The few existing
figures to answer this question give only an incomplete and mixed picture.
